Gadgets Galore

Hi all,

Again apologies for not posting more but with new baby in the house things have been rather busy however I do intend to post some more now as baby number 2 now goes to bed at the same time as baby number 1. So we actually have time to do things in the evening.

My 291 exam has now been booked for the end of Feb in an attempt to make me get a move on with studying. I'm mostly expecting to fail it but with the aid of the second shot I can take the exam again for free, which means I'll treat the first go as a yard stick for what I need to study and how far out I am.

Also I have  fallen in love with my freebie mp3 player again, I got it ages ago for renew my BT broadband line for another 12 months (im sure im paying over the odds but whilst studying for  my MCSA I need a good reliable line). Its only a 2GB one so cant hold too much and at the moment I cannot really justify shelling out for an Ipod or something with alot more space. The mp3 player I was given is a Creative Zen Stone Plus its a tiny device which is a big plus and also has decent sound quality (it should do being creative). UP until now I've used the music player on my k800i mobile but that is basic to say the least. Anyway with the stone you can browse the albums (as long as they are in folders on the player) and it will begin playing the album imediately. Im sure that its nowhere near as good as an Ipod but it will do me for now.

Also I have bought from a well known auction site a Belkin tunecast II FM transmitter. Which simply plugs into the headphone socket of your Ipod/mp3 player and you can then tune your home/car radio into its frequency and you have your mp3's on your radio, good for parties or rocking out in the car if you dont have an usb socket in your stereo. I've never bothered looking into these types of devices before because I thought that they would be expensive but I got the belkin for £8 and I hear it retails in the shops for around £15, so it was worth a punt to see what it was like. I must say again I am very impressed with it sound quality is excellent and you can choose any frequency to transmit on. Also the device automatically turns itself on/off when you begin playing music from your mp3 player or when no music is being played for a period of 60 seconds.

Anyway next post will definitely be useful to any 291ers out there.

TTFN.
