Well I have been looking around the net the last few days for cheap servers that support vmware esxi and have slowly been coming up with options. The most appropriate at the moment are the dell poweredge sc440 and the fujitsu-siemens econel 100 which according to vmwares HCL are compatible with esxi out of the box. All of the options are under 300 pounds but dell are a little off putting with their £60 delivery charge. There is also the poweredge t105 which is a posibility but I currently have requested some more info from my dell contact if this is compatible. I am also finding this information is useful for work as they would like me to run a few virtulisation tests on some of our live servers so that will be a interesting little project for me!
